Course Description

This training is designed to provide education, practice, and skills for treating PTSD, complex trauma and attachment disorders from a trauma-informed model. Professionals will learn and experience a rich variety of experiential modalities including and drawing from trauma-sensitive body therapies, equine-assisted-therapy, eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR), and psychodrama. Professionals will participate in and observe the process of healing for clients including building safety and trust, installation of resources, identification of traumatic triggers, reprocessing of trauma, and implementation of tools. Professionals will gain theoretical knowledge as well as practical skills, and have the opportunity to participate didactically and in interactive study groups.

Learning Objectives

Professionals will be able to:

*identify complex trauma symptoms

*identify when clients are moving towards or away from healthy attachment.

*list body-centered tools for emotional regulation, stress reduction, and anxiety management.

*demonstrate and incorporate animal and nature assisted therapeutic techniques.

*apply tapping tools and bi-lateral stimulation for regulation, resourcing, and reprocessing.

*utilize the therapeutic techniques of role playing, role reversal, and empty chair work.

Target Audience

This program is for Mental Health professionals including LPC’s, MFT’s, LCSW’s or any interested professional in health care.

Continuing Education Credit Information

This program offers 25 CE hours. It is the participant's responsibility to check with their individual state boards to verify CE requirements for their state.
